Fees and other charges
Please note: Not included are the costs of transport between the airport and the hotel and vice versa. For drinks there will be a number of tickets included in the fee; additional drinks, personal expenses and extra nights must be paid by participants themselves.
TIMS members may bring a partner or one guest. They will have to pay the full Symposium fee and may participate in all symposium activities.
If final payment is not received before April 1st, 2007, you will be removed from the list of participants to make room for those on the waiting list.
Extra hotel nights It is possible to stay additional nights at the hotel Mooi Veluwe before and after the symposium at a cost of EUR 85,50 per night per twin-bedded room, including full breakfast for two persons, and to be paid by yourself to the hotel. The Symposium Organising Committee will act as an intermediary, please indicate your arrival and departure dates on the application form.
Special fee reduction Young people (under 30) and guests from East European countries with limited financial means may apply for an additional reduction (thanks to a grant received); please contact the Symposium Organising Committee at tims2007@tiscali.nl as early as possible stating your reasons. We can offer a reduction on the Symposium fee up to a maximum of EUR 250,00 to a maximum of 10 persons meeting the criteria, plus a one-year free membership of TIMS.
Refunding policy Notice of cancellation must be received as soon as possible by the Symposium Organising Committee. If received before February 1st, 2007, all payments will be refunded after deduction of an administrative fee of EUR 50,-. If received after February 1st but before April 1st, 2007, the refund will be the amount paid after deduction of the deposit (300,- for the symposium and 100,- for each of the pre- and post-tours; all in Euros). After April 1st, 2007 no refund will be given except in the rarest of circumstances.
Note: If the number of participants in any of the tours (pre or post) or the optional Saturday excursion to the Open Air Museum should remain below a minimum level, the Organising Committee can decide to cancel that event, with a refund of the appropriate fee if already paid. The Committee cannot be held financially liable for any consequence of cancellation.
How to pay By credit card: see the registration form. This option is only available to non-European residents! There will be a supplementary charge of 2.5% for credit card handling costs. By cheque: Please make cheques payable to TIMS, c/o Lisa Steen Riggs, P.O. Box 245, Elk Horn, Iowa 51531, USA. This option is only available to US residents having a US bank account! Note: Currency rates on the day of receipt of payment apply; especially when paying in US dollars, check the actual currency rate. PAYMENT BY CASH SHOULD BE AVOIDED. CASH OTHER THAN EUROS WILL NOT BE ACCEPTED IN ANY CASE. PLEASE BE SURE THAT NO MONEY TRANSFER COSTS FALL UPON THE SYMPOSIUM ORGANISING COMMITTEE, OTHERWISE THEY WILL BE CHARGED ADDITIONALLY.
Application & acceptance TIMS members and all other individuals who are interested in this symposium and the subject of molinology may apply to participate by returning a completed application form. It is strongly recommended that you indicate your intentions before February 1st, 2007, and secure a place (there is a maximum number of places!) and your preferred type of hotel room by paying either the full fee (and get a discount) or a deposit. Priority will be given on a “first come, first served” basis, but paid-up TIMS members will be given priority and may be accompanied by a partner or one guest. A waiting list will be operated. Note: Those who have previously notified the Organising Committee of their interest in the symposium, must formally register using the application form. Note: If you should have special requests regarding participation, please contact the Organising Committee.
Responsibilities The Organising Committee of the TIMS 2007 Symposium is keen to provide a well-organised symposium and to avoid dangerous situations, but the Committee will not take any responsibility, nor any (financial) liability for accidents, illness or other risks that may occur to participants in the symposium, nor the consequences thereof. No claims can be made against the organisers. Participation is a free choice and at the participant’s own risk. It is strongly advised that participants take proper (for example: travel, medical) insurance measures, including third party cover against harming other persons or objects. Further, each participant has the obligation to pay the symposium fee (including extra tours and options the participant has chosen) before the deadlines set by the Organising Committee. In case of failure to do so, the Organising Committee has the right to cancel that individual’s symposium participation. Each participant shall with his/her signature on the application form certify his/her compliance with the regulations above and his/her full understanding of the information in the symposium pack. In case of electronic submission of that form, the mere act of submitting it by e-mail shall be regarded as equivalent to a signature.
