Practical information

 

 

Weather

Weather conditions are difficult to predict and may vary between sunny, warm and dry weather and cool and rainy. Be prepared for anything, bring an umbrella and an anorak (or rain-coat)! The evenings can be cool; bring a warm sweater. Average daytime maximum temperature is 19.5 degrees Celsius (67 Fahrenheit), however 14.5 in 2005 !

 

Insurance

All participants are expected to arrange their own personal medical and travel insurance. No claims whatsoever can be made against the organisers.

Travel

Excursions will be made using air-conditioned coaches (with toilet).

The "hands-on" working with mills activity will bring its participants in small groups to the selected mills. Mini-buses will then be used.

 

Visa

Citizens from abroad may require a visa. Please check with the Dutch embassy or consulate in your country or visit

Hotel

Bring your own face flannels, as they are not usually provided in Dutch hotels.

Check-in

The symposium registration will be in the afternoon of Saturday June 2nd until 6.00 pm. Symposium participants can check in and collect their information pack and badge in the hotel lobby. Any payment balance or additional charges have to be settled on the spot.

Participants arriving Friday June 1st will be received by one of the Symposium Committee members.

 

Access to mills  

Access to mills and pumping stations will be easy, although sometimes a not too long walk is necessary. Come with sturdy shoes!
