Call for papers
|
We call on all TIMS members and others to present their research findings, either as a formal paper or as an informal, relatively short contribution.
All papers, presentations and contributions must be in the English language. Authors who are concerned about their command of English are encouraged to contact the Symposium Committee, who will try to offer you help. Facilities for overhead/video/slide presentation and Power Point presentation using a notebook will be available.
The Organising Committee will decide on the acceptance of a submitted paper and an informal contribution. A participant is not allowed to submit more than one of each.
Formal papers Each formal paper will have to be submitted well in advance of the symposium in order to allow processing and inclusion in the symposium information pack. Deadline for submission is February 1st, 2007; we urge you to advise us of the title and subject as soon as possible.
It would be very much appreciated if a formal paper complies with our rules for both content and layout; there will be some refereeing.
The guidelines for writing and submitting a formal paper and some information on how informal contributions are treated can be downloaded here. Veuillez télécharger les Indications en français pour vous aider dans la préparation de votre contribution.
To help you adhere to the layout rules when writing a formal paper, we have drafted a template which can be downloaded here. Please use it, as it will reduce the workload of the Organising Committee immensely and avoid annoyance with both the Committee and the author.
Symposium participants will receive a copy of the papers in advance and will be expected to have read them. Therefore, the (principal) author will receive only 20 minutes for presenting a summary and 10 minutes for engaging in discussion with the audience.
Informal contributions Informal presentations (i.e. short contributions) may be anything that the author considers to be interesting for the symposium audience. The Organising Committee would appreciate receiving any material in advance and information about the subject and the time you require (maximum 20 minutes including discussion!); we may consider publishing some of the material in the Transactions. We have now reserved three evenings for these contributions. |
