Please click here to download a document with the time schedule of the train connection between London Waterloo (Eurostar) and Putten on 2 and 10 June.
Travel by car The hotel can be easily reached by car, it is not far from several motorways. Those travelling by car will find free but unsupervised parking space in the hotel grounds, in a fairly safe area. Use the links (left) for driving directions.
Pre-tour participants Participants in the pre-tour will have to travel to the city of Alkmaar in the western part of Holland. There is a train connection from Amsterdam Schiphol airport. Details will be available one month before the symposium. When arranging your flight, allow 2 hours of additional travel time after landing in order to arrive on time at the Alkmaar hotel. This hotel is at walking distance from the railway station; there will be no shuttle service, but taxis are available. The pre-tour will end at our symposium hotel; we shall therefore NOT return to Alkmaar. - Train service Schiphol Airport -> Alkmaar: departure Schiphol (platform 3): hh:00 (hh:12) (hh:42), to Amsterdam; departure Sloterdijk (platform 3): hh:19 (hh+1:06) (hh+1:01) to Alkmaar; arrival at Alkmaar: hh:48 (hh+1:06) (hh+1:36). - One way ticket EUR 7,90; change trains and platforms at Sloterdijk (8 minutes available); train journey takes 48 (or 54) minutes.
Getting away On Sunday June 10th, a shuttle-bus service will be arranged from the symposium hotel to the Putten railway station. Train tickets will be arranged as well.
Post-tour participants getting away after the tour Post-tour participants are advised to: - ask for drop-off at Brussels-Midi railway station for a fast train to Amsterdam Schiphol airport (for which a seat reservation is usually obligatory) or for any other (international) train (Thalys, EuroStar, etc.) or - stay on the bus and ask for a drop-off at Amsterdam Schiphol airport to catch a late night flight (no guarantee as to timeliness!) or to enjoy hotel accommodation nearby Schiphol (they should all have shuttle bus services), or - stay on the bus for hotel Mooi Veluwe at Putten and pick up your car there or enjoy one more night at the hotel Mooi Veluwe.
